New design methods are evident in social networking sites such as Facebook where the community acts as a kind of &quot;curator.&quot;  The process for new applications is design-by-committee: if you get it right, millions will take it up. If you&#039;re wrong, the design is instantly discarded. On the list of successful design : the &quot;poke,&quot; &quot;the super-poke.&quot; XEO Design&#039;s Nicole Lazzaro observes this social interaction is ambiguous but at the same time, implies closeness.</description>
