New design methods are evident in social networking sites such as Facebook where the community acts as a kind of "curator." The process for new applications is design-by-committee: if you get it right, millions will take it up. If you're wrong, the design is instantly discarded. On the list of successful design : the "poke," "the super-poke." XEO Design's Nicole Lazzaro observes this social interaction is ambiguous but at the same time, implies closeness.
